I go through phases where I love making Spndle Whorls, they aren't that easy as they need to be balanced as well as interesting to look at, which is probably why I don't make them all the time :)
Here we have "Dirty Daisy" a little 30mm Spindle Whorl in shades of Light Turquoise and decorated with little yellow and white flowers, the glass has been heated over and over to get a good balance and this results in an edgy and grungy look to the whorl, which I personally love.
This little whorl can be purchased with or without the wooden shaft. A lot of collectors have one shaft and swap their whorls out depending on their mood.
This will make a lovely little gift for yourself or the Spinner in your life :)
Number of beads: 1
Bead size: The Whorl measures 33mm in diameter and about 10mm high.
Weight: This little whorl weighs 9gms.
Hole size: 5mm
Spindle Shaft: 1
This is made of Oak with the characteristic "belly" of a medieval spindle, it is a top whorl shaft and is notched.
PLEASE NOTE: Photos are taken using natural light and a flash, I color match the photos to my screen, but all computers display colors differently.
I used Effetre Glass and all my beads and whorls go directly from the flame into my digital kiln.
I do combine shipping, so you only pay shipping on the first item and the others travel for free.
